Question by cnet_ben: where is a good place near laganas in Greek island of Zante?
I want a holiday for 2 people around 5/10 minute drive of Laganas, somewhere a bit quieter. This is for the last two weeks of September and self catering. Any suggestions of places meeting this criteria would be good as I dont know the names of any other towns in this area. Any good sites to find a suitable hotel/apartment would be great, cheers all

Tsillivi is a great place, a bit more than 5/10 minutes from Laganas however quieter and really nice. I’d definately recommend it, we booked through Thomas Cook and stayed at the Tsillivi Beach Hotel self catering, was really nice. I wish I was going back it was lovely!

argassi.. nice place
not Zante… Zakinthos. Was liberated from Italy after WWII
argassi, or kalamaki, a bit more quiet and close to lagana.
Best place for both of you would be Kalamaki, 5 minutes by bus, taxi or car from Laganas. Plenty going on without the noise etc. of “clubland” in Laganas. Try looking at the Dias Apartments in Kosmar website or ask travel agent. Nice, family run place that you will fall in love with. Everyone who goes there returns again as made to feel so “special”. Good food, lovely pool, big clean apartments and wonderful staff who will do anything for you.
Good luck & enjoy, if you do go please give our love to everyone (Bob, Sylvia and Helen).
Kalamaki is very near Laganas but alot quieter and only about 5-10 minutes drive away from the main resort of Laganas.
My mum is staying there right now and says its fantastic!!
Hi try the hotel Oscar just out side laganas or kalamaki not so mad but getting bigger every year,We lived in zakinthos for five years and its changed a lot but still a beautiful island.
I agree with Mindy.I love Tsilivi and have been numerous times and the Tsilivi Beach Hotel is great, not a big hotel but right on the beach and furnished really nice. You can make your nights as quiet or noisy as you like and I can recommend the Olive Tree restaurant on the main street. It was the only one there years ago and still retains a great reputation.
I usually find room only accommodations between the beach and centre and most are basic but clean, you only shower and sleep there after all .
Try Eclipse Direct,First Choice and Thomas Cook.
Enjoy.
